The Recruitment & Assessment Centre (RAC) of the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) has announced a major recruitment drive for Scientist ‘B’ positions. The Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), DRDO, and many other encadred positions within the Ministry of Defense have a total of 148 open positions.

2025 DRDO Scientist B Eligibility Requirements
To apply, candidates must meet the qualifying requirements listed below:
GATE score and necessary educational background:
- General prerequisite: At least a First-Class Master’s Degree in Science in the relevant field OR a First-Class Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology in the relevant field from an accredited university or its equivalent.
- GATE Qualification: For all disciplines, a valid GATE score in the relevant GATE exam code, as listed in Table 1 of the notice, is required.
- Students in their last year: Students who want to get a first-class degree and have taken or are taking their final semester exams are also eligible to enrol. By July 31, 2025, they have to turn in their degree or provisional degree certificate.
- International Degrees: By July 31, 2025, candidates who hold degrees from overseas institutions must receive an equivalency certificate from the “Association of Indian Universities, Delhi.”
- First Class Requirements: 60% will be regarded as equal if an institution does not mention First Class requirements. In the absence of a conversion formula, 6.75 (on a 10-point scale) will be interpreted as 60% for CGPA/CPI.

- The advertisement is anticipated to appear in Employment News on May 24, 2025.

Salary and Benefits for DRDO Scientist B in 2025
- Pay Level: According to the Pay Matrix, the positions are in Level-10 (7th CPC).
- The base salary is Rs. 56,100.
- Total Emoluments: At the current metro city rate at the time of joining, about Rs. 1,00,000/-per month (including HRA and all other allowances).
- Emoluments for Encadred Posts: The corresponding Armed Services will pay emoluments for encadred appointments.
