To oversee the team in Hyderabad that handles tasks like the Global Compliance Control Group, Information Barrier and Personal Account Dealing Surveillance, outside activity pre-clearance, equity aggregation, insurance licensing, and registration, Wells Fargo is looking for a Compliance Director. The candidate’s primary responsibility will be to supervise the efficient and reliable operation of these teams’ second line of defense. These groups are a part of the larger Conduct Risk and Enterprise Compliance Operations (“ECO”) team.

About the Enterprise Compliance Operations Team:

The team in charge of managing and carrying out enterprise-wide compliance rules and procedures is called Enterprise Compliance Operations (“ECO”), and it is made up of a number of highly operational core teams. These teams include the Personal Account Dealing Team, the Equity Aggregation Team, the Registration and Licensing Teams, and the Global Compliance Control Group (Control Room), which includes information barrier/personal investment policy monitoring. In relation to the underlying team responsibilities, these compliance operations teams cover business and enterprise functions worldwide.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee and guide the team in implementing the complicated, high-risk companywide compliance program.
  • Oversee and advance the implementation and difficulties of decisions pertaining to compliance.
  • Oversee and manage intricate regulatory frameworks, including setting standards.
  • Supervise the Front Line’s performance and appropriately challenge choices pertaining to compliance.
  • Oversee and keep an eye on particular components of the companywide compliance program, or manage a portion of it for a business group or functional area with a moderate level of risk and complexity.
  • Provide regulatory and compliance risk knowledge for a specific group of moderately risky compliance program components.
  • Provide suggestions for how to develop risk control and enhance processes.
  • Determine the reporting, escalation, and prompt resolution of problems and regulatory issues pertaining to compliance risk management.
  • Make choices and settle disputes to achieve corporate goals.
  • Analyze rules, regulations, and compliance specifications
  • Communicate and cultivate connections on risk-related issues with corporate, business executives, legal, audit, regulators, and industry partners.
  • Lead the group to accomplish goals.
  • Oversee the distribution of personnel and funds for compliance.
  • Create and lead a talent development culture to achieve company goals and strategy.


Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in compliance, or a comparable amount of time, as evidenced by one or more of the following: education, training, military experience, and work experience
  • Four or more years of experience in leadership or management.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in overseeing some or all of the following compliance teams: Personal Account Trading, trade surveillance, outside activities, equity aggregation (monitoring and reporting on significant shareholders), insurance licensing and registration, and global Control Group teams (Control Room).
  • experience managing a sizable volume of work on strategic technologies. Preferably, concentrate on the Global Control Group.
  • Knowledge and comprehension of compliance procedures and techniques, including as risk assessment, testing, and monitoring, as well as regulatory changes
  • Experience creating or sustaining important connections between departments and functions, as well as creating an engagement culture, and creating or improving initiatives that aim to address commercial or regulatory changes impacting an organization’s present operations
  • Proven ability to advocate for important change initiatives and positively and creatively influence change; assist others in anticipating and managing through change; work in a highly complex organization and influence decision-making outcomes to ensure the most appropriate risk posture in a rapidly changing environment; and think beyond the risks associated with current activities and those related to emerging technologies, capabilities, and activities that could drive risks we have not managed before.

Job Expectations:

In addition to having a functional dotted line to the Compliance Executive for Enterprise Compliance Operations and Conduct Risk, the candidate will report directly to the Head of India and Philippines Compliance for Sarkari Jobs. They will collaborate closely with the Conduct Risk and ECO leadership teams to help accomplish the team’s strategic goals and objectives.

Specific duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Create and maintain high-performing teams to help the Candidate accomplish the strategic goals and objectives of the ECO teams.
  • To assess technology requirements and find technological solutions to support the target state, collaborate closely with the owners of the Compliance Program Strategy, Planning & Governance, and other Enterprise Risk Programs.
  • In order to reduce the risks associated with highly operational compliance teams that cover the majority of businesses globally and high compliance and regulatory risk processes, oversee the ongoing implementation of the Compliance Framework.
  • Encourage the Teams to standardize and streamline the relevant compliance policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the development of the team’s key performance indicators (KPIs), key risk indicators (KRIs), and supervisory controls.
  • Assist in identifying and monitoring the manual controls that are already in place and will be automated through the execution of the IT strategy book of work by collaborating with the Compliance Technology and Project Management Office.
  • To help achieve operational excellence and reduce compliance and regulatory risk, provide suggestions and solutions on how to streamline the Teams processes, enhance the control framework, and support the implementation of those ideas.
  • Help the ECO teams standardize and streamline relevant compliance rules and procedures, and make sure that they are updated on time in accordance with Risk Policy criteria.
  • Directly contribute to the ECO teams’ recurring Compliance Management Reporting to the Compliance Risk Committee’s Chief Compliance Officer
  • Make sure that problems and new hazards are identified and escalated in a timely and suitable manner.
  • Supervise and credibly contest the reporting, escalation, and prompt resolution of issues pertaining to compliance.
  • As a key member of the ECO, lead and actively engage in meetings for the India & Philippines Compliance Leadership and the Risk Leadership team.
